The second photo is just to get a sense for how big this guy was... those fish behind him were about 3-4 inches long. I'd say he was close to two feet long...

Demon Repaint!

This is the repainting I did of a painting that I had originally done just over two years ago. It was June 5th, 2007 when I finished the original.

I'm even amazed, myself, at how much I've improved. Especially considering that I had only painted one thing in those two years, and it was within a month or two of finishing the original of this painting. Also, bear in mind that the original painting is the best I felt I could do when I had painted it... it took me about 8 hours, I think.

I stacked all four of my macro lenses to get as close as possible. If I had the patience, I could get much closer... but it's really hard to get a good focus without being able to see through the viewfinder.

I got the perfect shot early on, but I had my big, honkin' headphones on... and they're distracting. So, I spent about 10 more minutes trying to get the right angles again. I had no such luck. =-\

New Lens!

I'm sick of taking pictures of myself... but I'm still going to mess around with this lens and my mirror. At least with this photo (which has very little artistic merit), you can see how sharp this new lens is. I LOVE IT.

This is a portrait of one of the kids in my drawing class... we're doing portraits for a few more weeks. The linework is all done with conte crayon, but I went over it with a brush in photoshop, just to differentiate Ryan from the background.
